Bisley and District Theatre Club
Report on Recent Activities
Since the beginning of 2013 members have attended eleven performances - plays, concerts and ballets - in Bath, Birmingham, Malvern and Cheltenham. Still to come at the end of August is the final item of Bath Theatre Royal's summer season - a Feydeau farce adapted/translated by John Mortimer of Rumpole of the Bailey fame.
Our future bookings include Cats - The Musical in Bristol in October and English National Ballet's new production of Le Corsaire (made famous by Nureyev and Fonteyn in the 1960s) in November. Before the end of the year we are also offering three plays: Peter Shaffer's double bill, The Private Ear and The Public Eye, Daytona with Maureen Lipman and Chin Chin, a comedy starring Felicity Kendal and Simon Callow. For 2014, we have already booked the Viennese New Year Concert in Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the much-awaited dramatization of Hilary Mantel's Bring up the Bodies. The latter has already sold out, but you can go on the waiting list!
Membership of the Club costs £5.00 per annum and new members are very welcome. For more information telephone Keith Watson on 01452 770233 or Tessa Allen on 01452 770529
