We’re Clearwave Clinic, a small nurse-led private clinic based in Stroud and serving the surrounding Cotswolds. We know how annoying (and sometimes painful) ear problems can be — trapped wax, hearing that’s muffled, or itchy ears after swimming. This short piece explains how we can help, what to expect, and how to get in touch if you’d like a friendly, professional ear health check.

At Clearwave Clinic we focus on gentle, clinical care delivered by experienced registered nurses who specialise in earwax removal using microsuction and warm water irrigation, as well as thorough ear checks.
How we help
- Ear health checks: A quick, careful look inside the ear to check for wax, infection, or other concerns. We give clear, practical advice and a plan for next steps.
- Microsuction earwax removal: A safe, precise method of clearing wax with a microscope and suction — usually comfortable and effective for most people.
- Home visits & clinic appointments: We offer flexible care options to suit those who find travel difficult as well as those who prefer a clinic setting.
- Referral & onward care: If something needs specialist attention (a suspected infection, hearing tests, or ENT referral) we’ll explain why and help you get the right follow-up.
What to expect at an appointment
- A warm welcome from a registered nurse.
- Brief medical history and any concerns you have.
- A gentle otoscopic (looking) exam.
- If wax is present and removal is suitable, we’ll discuss options and carry out treatment with your consent.
- Clear aftercare advice and written notes for your records or GP, if you’d like us to send them.
