Volunteers with vans needed for the Longfield Christmas Treecycle Appeal
Longfield Community Hospice is asking local people to help with their annual ‘Treecycling’ campaign, in partnership with charity JustHelping.
Each year, around 200 volunteers enjoy a fun and physical day out collecting thousands of real Christmas trees from homes across Gloucestershire, which are then recycled in return for voluntary donations to Longfield Hospice.
Last year, the campaign – run in partnership with national organisation JustHelping – saw more than 4,600 real trees recycled, raising more than £76,000 from donations for local hospice care.
The 2027 tree collections will take place from Sunday 10 January – Sunday 17 January and whether you are an individual, group of friends, work or community team, please do get in touch to find out ways to volunteer. Longfield are particularly looking for volunteers with vans and trucks this year.
The charity is also keen to hear from companies willing to sponsor a van and fuel or provide volunteers and vans.
Volunteers can find out more and register their interest on the Get Involved section of the Longfield Community Hospice website.
